This is a definite upgrade over the Evoc Hip Pack Pro 3. That had some additional features that were adding complexity and the velcro underlayer waistband, while handy, seemed like it would wear out. The shoulder strap on the Swift 6.2 is much more confidence inspiring. The waistband tightens better, more like a hiking back, and the wing pockets are really handy. I used the Swift for a 25 mile ride along the McKenzie River, and it stayed cool and kept the pressure off my shoulders, and having the hose up high is much nicer than down by the waist like most hip packs.
Some negatives that could use refinement: The handle loop on top of the pack could be bigger or stand out more, it's not the quickest to grab. Taking the pack off and trying to set it somewhere to access your food or gear is a bit like wrestling a squid...there's straps and loose bits everywhere, it would be 5 stars if this had a way of sorta bundle it up nicely. The pocket that holds the bladder is oddly shallow...the water bladder barely sits in it...works all right but feels wrong. Lastly, the strap management while worn is only okay...tucking the waist bands into the wings is cool, but hard to do after you've tightened the belt. The velcro strap loops you otherwise use are scratchy and cheap-feeling; I'll probably just cut them off.
I bought one for my wife too, and she liked it, but noticed the straps weren't super bust-friendly unlike women-specific packs, and found it a tangle when loose as well.
Other subtle features that were nice: curved belt clasp helps orient it, and the zippers really are much better than other packs I've tried. Stretchy pockets on the wings are really handy for handkerchiefs and tiny snacks.
Still, best hip pack I've used so far...if the shoulders straps were removable or had some sort of sleeve you could tuck them into, the other negatives wouldn't keep it from 5 star.
